On My Radar: Agate Everything

Agate is a really popular and fabulous trend right now in home decor. For those of you interested in some knowledgggge, agate is a microcrystalline variety of silica which is characterized by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. While agates may be found in various kinds of rock, they are classically associated with volcanic rocks. Ah, thank you Wikipedia.

Check out some of the ways this trend is used below...

Fashion + Interiors = Fabulous.

Jackie Astier is a fashion stylist and interior designer from NYC whose home was featured in Elle Decor this past month. I was seriously in love with how she did her apartment... I read another blog which said that the look was something we had "all seen before" and it was "nice but expected". Well, I don't know if this blogger lives in a fairly land of FANTASTIC homes but to me, this is not decor that I walk into on a daily basis.

Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion! What do you think? It does not surprise me one bit that a fashion stylist would also be a wonderful, talented designer... the two really go hand in hand.

Enjoy and happy prezzy day :)

Slither This Way...

Hey y'all. I had a mayjaaa score at the mall today that I just had to share! If you read my blog pretty regularly, you may know that I have been on the search for some python... stuff. Blazers, jeans, shoes, whatevs. When I was at the Bergdorf in NYC a few weeks ago, I tried on a pair of Hudson Nico Skinnies in a snake print that were so cute. They have a price tag of $180, which in the scheme of jeans isn't all that much, but it was enough that I told myself I would look around and if I didn't find a cheaper version, I would just order them off of Bergdorf's website.

Low and behold... I brought my little self into Guess today and got so lucky. These babies were originally $138, on sale for $75, and 40% off of that! Woohooooooo and they are so amazingly fabulous! I think I may like the print and hue of my jeans a little better than the Hudson ones. Happy day happy day.

If you are interested, the link for the Hudson jeans is here. Unfortunately, I can't find mine online or I would give that link as well. If you have a local Guess, check it out!

Home Wish List

I know I said I would be posting the pictures from my trip tonight, but I will do that tomorrow. I am having totalllll buyers-decision-wishful-undecidedness... like the opposite of buyers remorse. Here are the current items on my home wish list that I really really want to purchase right this moment.

Wild Wednesdays: Foo Doggies

I love incorporating foo dogs into decor. Whether it is a lamp or a book end, they give a room a little asian infusion that is both chic and peaceful. Foo dogs first emerged during the Han Dynasty in Asia, where they guarded Buddhist temples, institutions and estates. They are thought of as protectors who also bring good luck to those near by. They are most often used in pairs on either side of an entrance, the ball beneath their paw representing the earth.

Ok, enough history - lets get on to the fun pictures!
