Wild Wednesdays - Tribal Beat

Hi lovesss. I have not had the greatest day on earth. I got a TechnoMarine watch a year ago that was so great and needless to say, not the cheapest watch on the market. A few weeks ago, the crown broke (without me realizing it right away) and I got it wet (it is allowed to be wet, but obviously not with the crown open) and didn't notice until I looked at it the next morning that anything was wrong. Well, by that time the damage had been done to the movement in the watch. Luckily, it was under warranty for two years... or so I thought. Come to find out, the warranty does not cover "external" damage, and they include a broken crown in "external", even though it has everything to do with the internal workings of the watch. Basically, I have a fairly new and expensive watch that I can do nothing with... besides pay to get it fixed, which will end up costing almost half of what the watch is worth, and I didn't even break it. AHHH. Sorry for the blabbing, clearly I need to vent. I am not happy.

But - what does make me happy is the tribal trend, in fashion and decor. So let's focus on something more upbeat, shall we?

There really isn't a place that I don't love seeing the Moroccan tile trend - are you guys loving it just as much?

Lunch Time Post - Adore Awards

Holy moly. I know shots from the new Adore mag is already on a lot of blogs... but I can't help myself! It is so fantastic I must share as well. Although I love basically every single image/item/word of the issue, I picked a few "awards". Thanks Adore, for not letting me ever be satisfied with my own abode because your magazine is so fantastic!!! Ok here we go.

Most Glorious Breakfast/Lunch Nook: The black and white is so simple, but the mixing of patterns makes the space a ton of fun. Eeeeeee love.

Most Beautiful Bar Cart Area: The gold faux bamboo, dark wall, flower pop and colorful abstract is beyonddd.

Most Girl-a-rific Workspace: This chair is a ton of fun! And the framed Hermes scarf... wowzaaa.

Most Comfy Bed: Do you not want to just fall into this bed and read a good book?

Most Glamorous Dining Room: There is a lot going on here - and it is pretty amazing. Ultra glam and looks like a very fun place for a dinner party.

Wallpaper Is Wonderful

Oh my god! Clearly I am new at this... I have to figure out how to film a video that lasts about three minutes because for some reason, Blogger won't let me upload one that is more than two minutes. I made like.. ten videos. LOL. Oh lorddd. I promise I will figure this out so it works better in the future. PS: In one of my many videos, I mention that the company I show you guys is to the trade only, but that video didn't make the cut! So just so that non-designers are not searching madly for Phillip Jeffries online, it is not for sale. But there are similar options out there for everyone and I wanted to show you guys! Ok - enjoy!

Herringbone - very masculine

Cashmere Interior at AVAM

Last night I went to the American Visionary Art Museum with my lovely co-workers for their annual fund raiser. It was such a fun event... we were given a tour of the museum, followed by a silent auction, happy hour, and a delicious dinner. We sat at a table with the owner and buyer of Urban Chic (anyone local probably knows about their fabulous stores) and they were a ton of fun! Anyway, I wanted to share a few of the picture I took during our tour because the museum has some amazing pieces.

PS: I know I promised my first SDL video this weekend but I got so super busy I didn't have time. I promise I will have one for you guys tomorrow night!

I loved this frame with the brass accents in each corner.

Hello little man.

This entire piece was made out of paper plates... pretty amazing!

A Mayan rock - reallyyy old.

I loved this piece. It is hard to tell from this image but it is made of hundreds of buttons, keys and other unique artifacts.

I liked this little creepy guy :)
