This weekend I was at the driving range.. while my boyfriend hits golf balls, I read! I brought Mary McDonald - Interiors, because I was in search of some good ideas for plate arrangements on the wall. I have a lot of open wall space and not only can I not afford to buy big pieces of art to cover each, I don't want my walls to be repetitive. Plate arrangements are unique and allow you to be creative in picking different colors, shapes and patterns. Mary has some fabulous shots that I should scan in, but I also found some great ones online to share.
There are a few different ways to do this, but make sure you map out how you want the plates on the wall before making holes in the wall. Standard plate hangers are only $2 each and can be found at your local hardware store.
White plates make a statement against a darker tone paint or wallpaper
Only a few plates are needed to make a statement - no need to cover the entire wall
Symmetrical layout looks great in this fun guest bedroom
Graphite paint + cream plates = chic
Mixing plates with other wall accessories - small art and mirror - is also a nice option
